At the root of this continuum, they identify and validate\u00a0<em>in situ<\/em>\u00a0a rare population of\u00a0<strong>plastic centroacinar-like cells <\/strong>with acinar-to-ductal metaplasia and developmental progenitor-like features.<\/p>\n<p>These findings provide a new framework for investigating\u00a0<strong>cellular plasticity in the healthy human pancreas<\/strong>\u00a0and how these states may relate to processes involved in pancreatic injury, regeneration, and disease, including pancreatic cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The ESPACE atlas is openly available to the community through an\u00a0<strong>interactive web portal<\/strong>, where researchers can explore and access the single-cell datasets and associated cell states.
